Micky Dolenz on his Facebook page responded to the speculation of Michael Nesmith joining the Monkees 50th Anniversary Tour:

Dear Friends and Fans,

For many decades now I have made a point of making it clear that my friend and brother in arms, Nez, is always invited and is always welcome on my stage; anytime, anyplace, anywhere, even though I know that it is usually unlikely.
The operative word here from my informal comments was “hopefully”.

So, let’s just put it down to wishful thinking.
