Davy Jones, Leon Russell, Dionne Warwick Set for La Mirada Theatre’s March Madness
La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts is to present March Madness, a month of rock and roll concerts and shows.
The month kicks off with 2011 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Leon Russell (March 3, 8pm). Sha Na Na will bring their 40th Anniversary Show, celebrating their four-decade journey from Woodstock to the movie Grease to La Mirada (March 4, 3pm). The live multi-media experience Laser Spectacular will present The Spirit of Michael, which pays tribute to the life and legacy of Michael Jackson (March 10, 8pm). In the Mood (March 11, 2pm), a 1940’s musical revue will celebrate the music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, and more.
Chubby Checker and The Wildcats will perform decades of high-energy songs and dance hits from the ’60s-era (March 17, 8pm). Classic Albums Live will present Eagle’s tribute band Eagle’s Hotel California (March 23, 8pm). Pop music’s Dionne Warwick (March 24, 8pm) is set to perform such hits as “Walk on By,” “Then Came You,” and “I Say A Little Prayer.” Finally, the month will close with Davy Jones sings The Monkees & More (March 31, 8pm).
